One of our favourite wild herbs. Used as an early-spring nutrient-rich cooking green, a tea ingredient, and a compost activator. Spreads easily by rhizome, so it should be planted thoughtfully. Prefers rich, moist soil. Must be cooked or dried to remove “the sting”, which comes from chemicals found in the plant. Perennial.
