A cross which arose out of “Sea of Red” stock, identified as a new salad star and isolated by Marika at ALM Farm. This lettuce still expresses a lot of variation, all of which have redeeming qualities and is part of the character of this variety. Deep mahogany edges with bright green centres have nice loft, good crunch, it performs well for salad through all of our seasons here on the coast and keeps good flavor and resists bolting in the heat of summer.
