Easy to grow. Our favourite herb for flavouring fresh and dry beans, peas, lentils, soups, cabbages, and sauerkraut with its spirit-awakening, peppery flavour. Dry for winter use. Also makes a nice tea. Likes medium rich, well-drained soil. Full sun. Sow indoors in early spring or outdoors after danger of frost. Do not cover seed as they need light to germinate.
