Originating with the native North American Cherokee people; this bean was named to memorialize the forced relocation from the south eastern USA to Oklahoma in 1838. Very prolific and hardy, it can be used as a fresh purple snap bean or allowed to dry. The beautiful small, shiny black beans have an excellent meaty flavour.
